About Carine Van Hee

Artist on a mission.

Carine is a Belgian-born artist living on a Norwegian island. Resilience is her middle name. Through her kick-ass colourful abstract art, she inspires women to stop playing small and step into their light.

Speaking from her own experience as a victim, a survivor, and a fighter for change, Carine is a strong advocate to stop violence against women and raise awareness about this global issue.

She inspires women to break the silence, to walk tall, and to speak out. Her art sends a message of hope to women around the world because, no, you are not alone in this.

‘We are not the result of the things that happened to us’, she says. ‘Each day, we can take another decision and create a better world for us and our surroundings.’

Talking about her scars and giving a creative voice to her experience is her way of breaking this numbing silence. ‘If we knew the story behind each and every woman, we would sink down on our knees and kiss their feet’, she says. The truth is ... we don’t.

‘Let us connect, let us talk about our scars, and let us no longer hide’, she continues, inviting us all to stand up for the feminine.

Her art is a reflection of her journey, her passion, and of her hope for equality for all human beings. As a mother, a storyteller, and a successful artist, Carine is a testament that no matter the struggles we face, there can still be healing in the end.

She uses acrylics, spray paints, and oil sticks to create vibrant compositions that express her visions.
